Awash Bank and Amref Health Africa agreed to construct ten sanitation facilities within government schools of Addis Ababa. The initiative aims to contribute to universal access to WASH in schools, ultimately enhancing the quality of education and health outcomes of school children in Addis Ababa.
Through this initiative, safe toilets, hand washing stations, and water reservoirs are being constructed for ten public schools in Addis Ababa. The facilities have been designed to be gender specific to minimize safety risks faced by girls, and inclusive of the needs of students with physical disabilities. Awash Bank donated Birr 3.8 Million to Amref Health Africa for the construction of Safe and Inclusive Sanitation Facilities in Public Schools in Addis Ababa.
