- Awashremit: Mobile Based Remittance Platform
- Bank: Awash Bank S.C.
- You / Your / Customer: The person using Awash Remit to send or receive money.
- Recipient: The person who receives the funds.
- Transaction: A money transfer made via the Awash Remit app.
- Cash Pickup: A service where the recipient collects cash from an Awash Bank branch using a secure token.
- Token: A unique code sent to the sender’s registered email to enable cash pickup.
- Wallet Account: Awash Birr Pro wallet that can receive funds digitally.
- Exchange Rate: The daily rate used to convert foreign currency into Ethiopian Birr (ETB).
- Bonus: An additional percentage added by Awash Bank to the transferred amount.
- Business Day: Any day Awash Bank operates and processes transactions.
- By registering or using the Awash Remit app, you agree to these Terms.
- If you disagree, do not proceed.
- Continued use means acceptance of any updated Terms. Please read them carefully before using the service.
AwashRemit allows users to send money from their debit or credit card to recipients in Ethiopia through Awash Bank S.C. and its authorized partners.

- Register or log in to the AwashRemit app.
- Provide recipient details and Input your card related information’s.
- Review the exchange rate and service fee shown.
- Confirm and send.
- The recipient will receive funds directly to their Awash Bank account or cash at nearby Awash Bank Branches.
- You must ensure all recipient details (name, account number, phone, etc.) are correct before confirming.
- Once confirmed and processed, no refund or reversal is possible — applies to all transaction types, including:
- Cash Pickup
- Transfer to Awash Bank account
- Transfer to Awash Birr Pro wallet
- Any additional Services
- The transferred amount will be converted to ETB using the Bank’s daily exchange rate.
- Awash Bank may add a bonuses based on the displayed percentage of the sent amount.
- Before completing the transfer, you will see a full transaction summary showing:
- Sent amount (foreign currency)
- Exchange rate applied
- Converted amount (ETB)
- Bonus amount
- Total ETB the recipient will receive
- You must confirm this summary before proceeding.
- You must be at least 18 years old.
- You must use a valid and authorized card in your name.
- The service must be used only for lawful purposes.

- Cash Pickup: Recipient must present a valid ID matching transfer details.
- Unredeemed Cash Pickup: If the recipient does not redeem the funds before the token expires, the Bank will automatically:
- Create an Awash Birr Pro wallet account using the recipient’s name and phone number entered by the sender.
- Credit the money transferred into this wallet.
- The recipient can access the funds after visiting any Awash Bank branch to activate their wallet account.
3.Transfers to Awash Bank accounts or Awashbirr Birr Pro wallets: Funds are credited directly to the selected account or wallet.
- All applicable fees and exchange rates are shown before you confirm your transaction.
- Once confirmed, the rate and fee cannot be changed.
- Awash Bank is not responsible for any loss due to rate fluctuations.
- Provide accurate personal and payment details.
- Use the service only for lawful purposes.
- Protect your account’s credentials and tokens.
- Report any suspicious or unauthorized transactions immediately.
- You are responsible for all activity under your account.

- Awash Bank follows Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Know Your Customer (KYC)
- The Bank may hold, suspend, or cancel transactions for regulatory or security reasons.
- You may be asked to submit additional identification or documentation.
- The Bank is not liable for losses due to incorrect recipient details, token misuse, or system issues beyond its control.
- All completed transactions are final and irreversible.
- Awash Bank is not liable for:
- Delays caused by wrong information or system issues.
- Any indirect or consequential losses.
- Unauthorized access resulting from user negligence.
- Transaction details, tokens, and updates are sent via your registered email or phone.

Awash Bank may update these Terms at any time. The latest version will be displayed in the app. Continued use means you accept the updated Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of Ethiopia, and disputes will be handled under Ethiopian jurisdiction.
